Convert PNG screenshots and exports to JPG for much smaller photos. Transparent areas are filled with white, and a quality of around 85 usually keeps photos clean while cutting the size several times over.
How to use
- Pick a tool at the top: Resize, Compress, Crop, Rotate, Convert or EXIF.
- Drop images on the card, tap to choose them, or paste with Ctrl+V. You can add many at once.
- Adjust the options. Tap an image in the list to preview it, crop it or see its metadata.
- Press the button and download the result: one file, or a ZIP when there are several. Compress runs automatically.
- Images are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
- Photos are turned upright using their EXIF orientation before editing.
- Compress keeps the original when re-encoding would make it bigger. PNG compression reduces colors (up to 256) and keeps transparency.
- Removing metadata from JPEG, PNG and WebP is lossless: only the metadata is cut out, pixels stay identical. The orientation tag is kept so photos stay upright.
- AVIF appears as a format when your browser can encode it. HEIC photos open only in browsers that support them (such as Safari).
Resizing without distortion
Keep ratio locks width and height together. A 4000 × 3000 photo resized to a width of 1200 px becomes 1200 × 900, because the height follows the same 4:3 ratio. Switch to percent to scale everything by the same factor, which is handy for a batch of mixed sizes.
Enlarging a small image adds no detail, so for print or sharp results start from the largest original you have.
JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF
JPG suits photos and gives small files at quality 80 to 90. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, which makes it the choice for screenshots, logos and text. WebP and AVIF are newer formats that usually make photos noticeably smaller at similar quality and also support transparency. When you convert a PNG with transparent areas to JPG, those areas turn white because JPG has no alpha channel.
Crop and rotate
Crop with a draggable box or exact pixel values, with presets for 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16. Rotate in 90° steps or flip horizontally and vertically. Photos from phones are first turned upright using their EXIF orientation, so what you see is what you save. All processing happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to an exact size?
Choose Resize, select pixels, type the width and turn off Keep ratio if you also want a fixed height. With Keep ratio on, the height is calculated so the picture is not stretched.
Does resizing reduce image quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp but discards pixels, so you cannot get the detail back later. Making it larger only stretches existing pixels, so it looks softer.
Can I edit many images at once?
Yes. Add as many images as you like, and Resize, Crop, Rotate, Convert and Compress apply to all of them. Several results are downloaded together as one ZIP file.
Why does my PNG get a white background when I convert it to JPG?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels have to be filled with a color. White is used because it matches most documents and web pages.
Can I open HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Only in browsers that can decode HEIC themselves, such as Safari. In other browsers, export the photo as JPG on the phone first, or set the iPhone camera to Most Compatible.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The images are decoded, edited and encoded in your browser, so they never leave your device and the tool also works without a connection once loaded.
