Only record screens, calls and audio you have the right to record. Some meetings and content need everyone’s consent.

Record your screen with both your voice and the sound playing on your computer, mixed into one file, for tutorials, game clips or meeting recordings. In Chrome and Edge tick “Share audio”; whole-system sound is available on Windows and ChromeOS.

How to use

  1. Turn on System audio, Microphone or Webcam if you need them, then press Start recording.
  2. Pick a screen, window or tab in the browser’s dialog. For sound from your computer, tick “Share audio”.
  3. After the countdown, recording starts. Pause and resume as you like; press Stop, or stop sharing from the browser bar, to finish.
  4. Watch the preview and download it as WebM or MP4.
  • Screen recording works in desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Phones and tablets don’t let websites record the screen.
  • Computer sound: Chrome and Edge can share a tab’s audio everywhere, and the whole system’s audio on Windows and ChromeOS. Firefox and Safari record without system sound.
  • Recordings stay in your browser’s memory until you download them, so long sessions need free memory. Nothing is uploaded.

How browser screen recording works

When you press Start recording, the browser asks which screen, window or tab to share; the site never sees anything you do not pick. After a short countdown the recording runs, and you can pause, resume and stop, or stop sharing from the browser bar. The finished video is shown for review before you download it.

Screen capture works in desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Phones and tablets do not let websites record the screen; use the built-in recorder of iOS or Android there.

Getting the sound right

Computer sound depends on the browser and what you share. Chrome and Edge can capture a tab’s audio on every system and the whole system’s audio on Windows and ChromeOS; tick “Share audio” in the dialog. Firefox and Safari record without system sound. The microphone is mixed into the same file, so a narrated tutorial needs no editing afterwards. Use headphones to avoid an echo of the computer sound in the mic.

File size and formats

WebM is the browser’s native recording format and plays in Chrome, Firefox and VLC. MP4 is the safer choice for sharing with Windows, macOS, iPhone and video editors. Recordings are kept in memory until you save them, so long sessions need free RAM; a 10-minute 1080p recording of a mostly static screen is often a few hundred MB or less, while video-heavy content takes more.

Frequently asked questions

How do I record my screen with audio?

Turn on System audio and Microphone, press Start recording, choose the screen or tab and tick “Share audio” in the browser dialog. Your voice and the computer sound are recorded into one file.

Is there a time limit or watermark?

No watermark, and the tool sets no time limit. Very long recordings are only limited by your device’s free memory, because the video is kept in the browser until you download it.

Can I record my screen on a phone?

Not from a website: mobile browsers do not allow screen capture. Use the built-in screen recording of iOS or Android instead.

Why is there no computer sound in my recording?

System sound needs Chrome or Edge and “Share audio” ticked in the sharing dialog. Whole-system sound is available on Windows and ChromeOS; on macOS share a browser tab to include its sound.

Should I save WebM or MP4?

MP4 plays almost everywhere, including iPhone, PowerPoint and most editors. WebM is smaller to produce in some browsers and plays in Chrome, Firefox and VLC.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. The video is recorded and stored in your browser’s memory and only saved when you download it. Nothing is sent to a server.
