Only record screens, calls and audio you have the right to record. Some meetings and content need everyone’s consent.
Record lossless 16-bit WAV from any microphone, in mono or stereo, for editing, podcasts or transcription tools that prefer uncompressed audio. A mono minute at 48 kHz is about 5.8 MB. Trim the take and download it right away.
How to use
- Press Record and allow the microphone. If you have several microphones, pick one from the list first.
- Pause and resume as often as you like. Press the square button to stop and keep the take.
- Drag the handles on the waveform to trim the start and end, then press Play to check.
- Download the take as WAV or MP3. New recordings are added to the list below.
- Noise filter, Echo cancellation and Auto gain are the browser’s own microphone processing. Turn them off for music or instruments.
- Takes are kept as raw audio until you leave the page. WAV is lossless; MP3 is smaller and is encoded on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Recording a clean take
Allow the microphone when the browser asks, then press Record. Keep the mic 15 to 30 cm from your mouth, slightly to the side to avoid breath pops, and record in a soft-furnished room rather than a bare one. A short test take shows whether the level is right before the real recording.
Press the square to keep the take; it appears in the list and the next take can start at once. Drag the handles to trim silence at the start and end, and press P to play the trimmed part.
MP3 or WAV
WAV is lossless 16-bit audio, the right choice for editing, transcription software or archiving; a mono minute at 48 kHz is about 5.8 MB. MP3 is encoded on your device at 96 to 320 kbps; 128 kbps is plenty for speech at about 1 MB per minute, and 192 kbps or more suits music. Choose mono for a single voice and stereo for music or a stereo microphone.
Privacy and limits
Takes are kept as raw audio in your browser until you leave the page, so download the ones you want to keep. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed. Long recordings use a lot of memory, because raw audio takes far more space than MP3, so on phones save long sessions in parts.
Frequently asked questions
How do I record my voice online?
Press Record, allow the microphone, speak, then press the square to stop. Trim the take if needed and download it as MP3 or WAV.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Microphone recording works in current mobile browsers. Keep the page open while recording, because switching apps can pause the microphone.
Is there a time limit?
The tool sets no limit. Very long takes are limited by free memory, so for hours of audio record in parts.
Which format should I choose?
MP3 at 128 kbps for spoken voice you want to share, WAV for anything you will edit or transcribe. WAV files are about five to ten times larger.
Can I record computer sound instead of the microphone?
Use the screen recorder for that: in Chrome and Edge it can capture a tab’s sound, or on Windows and ChromeOS the whole system’s sound.
Are my recordings uploaded?
No. Recording, trimming and MP3 encoding happen in your browser, and the audio stays on your device until you download it.
