Time zone and daylight saving rules can change, so confirm important times with the people involved.

When it is 12:00 UTC, it is 20:00 in Singapore. Singapore is on UTC+8 all year and does not observe daylight saving time. Singapore shares its clock time with Manila, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai.

How to use

  1. Your local time is at the top; tap any clock to copy the time.
  2. Add cities or time zones with the search box: type a city, a country or an abbreviation such as PST or KST.
  3. Drag the timeline under the clock to see what time it will be everywhere at another hour. Tap Now to return.
  4. In the Converter, pick a date, a time and a source city to convert it to every city in your list.
  • Times come from your browser’s time zone database, which includes daylight saving rules. Keep your browser updated so recent rule changes are included.
  • Edit lets you remove cities and drag them into a new order. Your list is saved on this device only.
  • In the 24-hour table, working hours (9:00–18:00) are green and early or late hours are gray. Tap a row to convert that hour.
  • Switch between 12-hour and 24-hour clocks with the 24h button.

Where the times come from

Every time is computed in your browser from the IANA time zone database built into it, the same rules that operating systems use. That database knows each region’s UTC offset and its daylight saving dates, past and planned, so the clock is right on the days clocks change. Keep the browser updated to get the latest rule changes.

Your list of cities is saved on this device only; nothing is sent to a server.

UTC, offsets and daylight saving time

Time zones are described as offsets from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC): Tokyo is UTC+9, New York UTC−5 in winter and UTC−4 in summer. Some offsets are not whole hours, such as India at UTC+5:30 and Nepal at UTC+5:45. Northern and southern hemispheres switch to daylight saving time in opposite seasons, so the gap between, say, London and Sydney ranges from 9 to 11 hours over a year.

Planning across zones

Drag the timeline under the clock to move every city forward or back in 15-minute steps and see who is awake. For a specific meeting time, the converter turns one date and time into all your cities, with a 24-hour table that marks working hours.

Frequently asked questions

What time zone is Singapore in?

Singapore uses the Asia/Singapore time zone, UTC+8 all year with no daylight saving time.

Does Singapore use daylight saving time?

No. Singapore stays on UTC+8 all year, so the time difference to places without daylight saving time never changes.

How do I see the time in another city?

Type the city, the country or a zone abbreviation in the search box and add it. Its current time and the difference from your local time appear in the list.

Does the world clock adjust for daylight saving time?

Yes. It uses the time zone rules built into your browser, so each city switches on its own date and the differences update automatically.

What is UTC?

Coordinated Universal Time, the reference time that all time zones are expressed against. It does not change for daylight saving time, so it is handy for comparing places.

Why is the difference between two cities not always the same?

Because the cities change clocks on different dates, or only one of them uses daylight saving time. The difference can shift by an hour for a few weeks each spring and autumn.

Can I save my list of cities?

Yes. Your cities and their order are saved in this browser automatically, so they are there the next time you open the page.
