Remove extra spaces and line breaks from text in one step: trim every line, collapse double spaces, delete empty lines, strip invisible characters, convert tabs and spaces, or join all lines into one paragraph. It fixes text copied from PDFs, emails and web pages, where hard line breaks and stray spaces are common.

How to use

  1. Paste a list or drop a text file into the box.
  2. Pick a tool: Dedupe removes repeated lines, Sort orders them, Clean fixes spaces and line breaks, Extras adds prefixes, suffixes or numbers.
  3. Turn options on or off; the result updates as you go.
  4. Tap the result to copy it, download it as .txt, or use it as the new input to chain another step.
  • Dedupe can ignore case and leading or trailing spaces when comparing, and keep either the first or the last copy of each line. Show removed lists the duplicates instead.
  • Sorting follows the rules of your language, so accented letters sort next to their base letter. 1 → 10 sorts numbers by value, so 2 comes before 10.
  • Shuffle uses your browser’s cryptographic random generator. Tap it again for a new order.
  • Clean can remove zero-width spaces and non-breaking spaces that often sneak in from web pages, Word or PDFs. In the separator, \n means a new line and \t a tab.
  • Your text never leaves this browser.

Why copied text looks broken

PDFs store text as positioned lines, so copying a paragraph often gives a line break at the end of every visual line. Emails wrapped at 72 or 78 characters do the same. Join lines replaces each break with a space (or any separator you type) so the text flows again. Remove empty lines deletes blank lines but keeps the rest of the line structure.

Web pages and word processors also insert characters you cannot see: non-breaking spaces (U+00A0), zero-width spaces (U+200B) and byte order marks. They make searches, spreadsheet lookups and duplicate checks fail. Remove invisible characters deletes them or turns them into normal spaces.

Tabs, spaces and trimming

Trim lines removes spaces at the start and end of every line, and Collapse turns runs of spaces into one. Tabs to spaces and Spaces to tabs convert indentation, which helps when pasting code or table data between programs that expect one or the other. In the separator field, \n stands for a new line and \t for a tab.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove line breaks from text?

Paste the text and turn on Join lines. Each line break becomes a space, or whatever separator you type, such as a comma.

How do I remove double spaces?

Turn on Collapse spaces. Every run of two or more spaces becomes a single space, and Trim removes spaces at line ends.

Why does text copied from a PDF break at every line?

Because a PDF stores each visual line separately. Join lines turns those breaks into spaces so the paragraph reads as one block again.

What are invisible characters?

Characters such as the zero-width space and the non-breaking space that take no or normal width but are not regular spaces. They often come from web pages and PDFs.

Is my text uploaded?

No. All cleaning happens in your browser; the text is not sent anywhere.
