History
A d10 has 10 faces, so each number from 1 to 10 comes up with a chance of 1 in 10 (10%) and the average roll is 5.5. It is used for percentile rolls in pairs and dice pools in many RPG systems. Roll up to 10 at once and see each value and the total.
How to use
- Type or paste names into the list, one per line. Names, Wheel and Teams share this list, and it is saved on this device.
- Names: choose how many winners and press Pick. Turn on Remove picked to draw without repeats.
- Wheel: press Spin, tap the wheel or flick it with your finger or mouse. The winner opens in a sheet where you can remove it or spin again.
- Number: set min, max and how many, then press Generate. Unique avoids repeats and Sorted orders the results.
- Dice: choose a die from d4 to d100 and 1–10 dice, then Roll to see every value and the total.
- Coin: tap the coin to flip it. Teams: choose the number of teams or people per team and press Make teams.
- Every result comes from crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, so each name, number and face is exactly equally likely.
- On the wheel the winner is drawn fairly the moment the spin starts. How hard you flick only changes the show, never the odds.
- Your list, options and history stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded.
- Sound and vibration only start after you tap and can be switched off. Vibration works on most Android phones.
Odds and averages
Each face of an n-sided die has a 1 in n chance, and the average of one die is (n + 1) ÷ 2: 3.5 for a d6, 10.5 for a d20. Totals of several dice cluster in the middle. With 2d6 a 7 comes up 6 times in 36 (16.7%) while 2 and 12 come up only once in 36 (2.8%).
Every roll uses cryptographic randomness with rejection sampling, so there are no hot or cold streaks beyond what pure chance produces.
Dice notation
Tabletop games write rolls as NdX: 3d6 means three six-sided dice added together, 1d20 one twenty-sided die. Pick the die type, set the number of dice and the total is added up for you. A d100 gives 1 to 100 directly, the same as the classic pair of d10s used for percentile rolls.
Frequently asked questions
Is this online dice roller fair?
Yes. Each roll uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator with rejection sampling, so every face has exactly the same chance.
Can I roll more than one die?
Yes. Choose 1 to 10 dice of the same type. Each value is shown along with the total.
What is the most common total with two dice?
With two six-sided dice it is 7, which can be made 6 ways out of 36, a chance of about 16.7%.
What does 2d6 or 1d20 mean?
The first number is how many dice, the second the number of sides. 2d6 is two six-sided dice added together.
Does it keep a history of rolls?
Yes. Recent rolls are listed below the dice on this device, so you can check earlier results during a game.
