Deck settings
Reviews in the next 14 days
Make flashcard decks online and study them with flip cards, spaced repetition, typed answers or multiple-choice quizzes, with each side read aloud in the right language. Paste a whole list of terms at once or import CSV, and everything stays in your browser with no sign-up. Built for vocabulary, exam facts, formulas and definitions.
How to use
- Add cards on the Cards tab: type a front and a back, or paste a list with one card per line (term, then a tab, comma or dash, then the definition).
- On Study, pick a mode: Flip to browse, Spaced for spaced repetition, Type to write the answer, Quiz for multiple choice.
- In Spaced mode, think of the answer, show it, then rate yourself. Again brings the card back in 10 minutes; Hard, Good and Easy push it days or weeks ahead.
- Set the front and back language in Deck settings so the speaker button reads each side with the right voice.
- Scheduling follows the SM-2 idea: each card has an ease factor that rises when you find it easy and drops when you struggle, so intervals grow faster for cards you know.
- A new day starts at 4 am, so late-night reviews count toward the same day.
- Type and Quiz are practice modes and do not change the schedule. Typed answers ignore case and extra spaces; accents are flagged but still counted.
- Use **bold**, *italic* and __underline__ in card text.
- Decks and progress are saved in this browser on this device and never uploaded. Export JSON to back up or move to another device; CSV and TSV work with spreadsheets, Anki and Quizlet imports.
How the spaced repetition schedule works
Memory fades quickly after learning, which Hermann Ebbinghaus measured as the forgetting curve in 1885, and each successful review slows that fading. Spaced repetition shows a card just before you would forget it. This app follows the SM-2 idea: a new card answered Good comes back after 1 day, then after 6 days, then after the last interval multiplied by the card’s ease factor, which starts at 2.5. So a card you keep knowing is seen after 1, 6, 15 and about 38 days.
Again brings the card back in 10 minutes and lowers its ease, Hard grows the interval by only 1.2× and Easy makes it jump further. A new day starts at 4 am, so late-night reviews still count for the same day.
Getting more out of each session
Try to recall the answer before you flip the card; retrieving it is what strengthens memory, while just rereading feels productive but helps less. Keep cards small, one fact per card, and add an example sentence for vocabulary. A daily session of 10 to 20 minutes usually beats one long session before an exam. Type and Quiz modes are good practice but do not change the schedule.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make flashcards quickly?
On the Cards tab, paste a list with one card per line: the term, then a tab, comma or dash, then the definition. Each line becomes a card.
What does Again, Hard, Good, Easy mean?
They tell the scheduler how well you remembered. Again repeats the card in 10 minutes, Good uses the normal interval, Hard a shorter one and Easy a longer one.
Can I import cards from other apps?
Yes. Import CSV or TSV with front and back columns, which most flashcard apps and spreadsheets can export. JSON backups from this app keep your progress too.
Can the cards read words aloud?
Yes. Set the front and back language in Deck settings; the speaker button and the S key then read each side with a matching voice from your device.
Are my decks saved?
Yes, in this browser on this device. Export JSON as a backup or to move decks to another device; nothing is uploaded.
