Winner

A yes or no generator for when you can’t decide: tap and get Yes or No with an exact 50/50 chance from cryptographic randomness. Ask the question in your head first, then flip. The tally counts how often each answer came up, so you can also use it as a best-of-three.

How to use

  1. Type or paste names into the list, one per line. Names, Wheel and Teams share this list, and it is saved on this device.
  2. Names: choose how many winners and press Pick. Turn on Remove picked to draw without repeats.
  3. Wheel: press Spin, tap the wheel or flick it with your finger or mouse. The winner opens in a sheet where you can remove it or spin again.
  4. Number: set min, max and how many, then press Generate. Unique avoids repeats and Sorted orders the results.
  5. Dice: choose a die from d4 to d100 and 1–10 dice, then Roll to see every value and the total.
  6. Coin: tap the coin to flip it. Teams: choose the number of teams or people per team and press Make teams.
  • Every result comes from crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, so each name, number and face is exactly equally likely.
  • On the wheel the winner is drawn fairly the moment the spin starts. How hard you flick only changes the show, never the odds.
  • Your list, options and history stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Sound and vibration only start after you tap and can be switched off. Vibration works on most Android phones.

How the draw stays fair

Each pick uses crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, so with 25 names every name has exactly a 4% chance, with no bias toward the top or bottom of the list. Duplicate lines count as separate entries, which is an easy way to give someone two tickets.

To pick several winners at once, set the number before you press Pick. With Remove picked turned on, winners leave the list, so a second round can never draw the same person again.

Tips for giveaways and classes

Paste comments or usernames straight from a spreadsheet or chat; blank lines are ignored. Record the screen if you need proof of a public draw. In class, keep Remove picked on to call on each student once before anyone repeats.

The same list also feeds the Wheel and Teams tabs. Everything runs in your browser; your list and history are saved on this device only.

Frequently asked questions

Is the random name picker really random?

Yes. It uses the browser’s cryptographic random generator with rejection sampling, so every entry has exactly the same probability.

Can I pick more than one winner?

Yes. Set how many winners you need before pressing Pick. Names are drawn without repeats within one draw.

How do I avoid picking the same name twice?

Turn on Remove picked. Each winner is taken off the list, so later draws only use the remaining names.

Can I give someone extra chances?

Add their name on more than one line. Each line is a separate entry, so two lines mean twice the chance.

Is there a limit on the number of names?

There is no fixed limit; lists with thousands of lines work. Very long names are simply shown in full in the result.

Are my names uploaded anywhere?

No. The list is stored only in this browser so it is still there next time, and nothing is sent to a server.
