Draw 3 turns three cards from the stock at once and only the top one can be played, so the cards underneath come back in a different order on each pass. It is the traditional, harder Klondike; plan which card you need two turns ahead.
How to use
- Pick Klondike, FreeCell or Spider at the top. Each game keeps its own deal in progress.
- Drag cards to move them, or tap a card to send it to the best place. Double-click sends a card to its foundation.
- Klondike and FreeCell: build columns down in alternating colors and move each suit from Ace to King onto the foundations. Spider: build King-to-Ace runs of one suit; full runs are removed.
- Tap the stock to draw (Klondike) or to deal a new row (Spider). Undo works without limit. Hint shows a useful move.
- When every card is face up, Finish moves the rest to the foundations for you.
- Winnable deals in Klondike come from a list of deals our solver has finished, assuming unlimited passes through the stock.
- Vegas scoring: you start at −$52 and earn $5 per card on a foundation. Draw 1 allows one pass through the deck, draw 3 allows three. No real money is involved.
- FreeCell deal numbers match the classic numbered games, so #1 to #1,000,000 lay out the same everywhere. Almost all are solvable. You can move as many cards at once as free cells and empty columns allow.
- The timer pauses when you leave the tab. Games, statistics and options are saved in this browser only.
Klondike rules
A 52-card deck is dealt into seven columns of 1 to 7 cards, with only the top card of each face up; the other 24 cards form the stock. Build the columns downward in alternating colors, for example a black 9 on a red 10, and move any face-up run as a block. Only a King can fill an empty column.
Start a foundation with each Ace and build it up by suit to the King. Turn cards from the stock one at a time (draw 1) or three at a time (draw 3), where only the top card of the three can be played. The game is won when all four foundations are complete.
Scoring and winnable deals
Standard scoring gives 10 points per card moved to a foundation and 5 for a card from the waste to a column, and takes 15 off when a card goes back from a foundation. Recycling the stock costs 100 points in draw 1 and, after three passes, 20 points in draw 3. With Winnable deals on, every game comes from a list of deals our solver has won with unlimited passes, so a loss is always a matter of play, not of the cards.
Tips
Turn over face-down cards in the longest columns first, since they hide the most. Don't empty a column unless you have a King ready to fill it. Move cards to the foundations early when they are low, but keep middle cards in the columns when you still need them to hold the opposite color.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between draw 1 and draw 3?
Draw 1 turns one card from the stock at a time, so every card is reachable. Draw 3 turns three and only the top one is playable, which makes the game harder.
Is every game of solitaire winnable?
No, some Klondike deals cannot be won. With Winnable deals turned on, every deal here has already been solved, so each one can be won.
Can I undo moves?
Yes, without limit, back to the start of the deal. Hint shows a useful move when you are stuck.
What can go in an empty column?
In Klondike only a King, or a run that starts with a King. In FreeCell any card or a valid run can fill it.
Is my game saved if I close the page?
Yes. The deal in progress, statistics and options are saved in this browser, and the timer pauses when you leave the tab.
