Enter any FreeCell deal number from 1 to 1,000,000 and get the same layout as in the classic numbered games. Deal #11982 is the famous one with no solution; most others can be won. Share the link to challenge a friend on the exact same cards.
How to use
- Pick Klondike, FreeCell or Spider at the top. Each game keeps its own deal in progress.
- Drag cards to move them, or tap a card to send it to the best place. Double-click sends a card to its foundation.
- Klondike and FreeCell: build columns down in alternating colors and move each suit from Ace to King onto the foundations. Spider: build King-to-Ace runs of one suit; full runs are removed.
- Tap the stock to draw (Klondike) or to deal a new row (Spider). Undo works without limit. Hint shows a useful move.
- When every card is face up, Finish moves the rest to the foundations for you.
- Winnable deals in Klondike come from a list of deals our solver has finished, assuming unlimited passes through the stock.
- Vegas scoring: you start at −$52 and earn $5 per card on a foundation. Draw 1 allows one pass through the deck, draw 3 allows three. No real money is involved.
- FreeCell deal numbers match the classic numbered games, so #1 to #1,000,000 lay out the same everywhere. Almost all are solvable. You can move as many cards at once as free cells and empty columns allow.
- The timer pauses when you leave the tab. Games, statistics and options are saved in this browser only.
FreeCell rules
The whole deck is dealt face up into eight columns, four of 7 cards and four of 6. Above them are four free cells, each holding one card, and four foundations that are built up by suit from Ace to King. In the columns you build down in alternating colors, and any card or valid run can go into an empty column.
Officially you move one card at a time, but moving a run is allowed as a shortcut when there is enough room to do it card by card. That limit is (free cells + 1) × 2 to the power of empty columns: with 4 free cells and no empty column you can move 5 cards, with one empty column 10.
Numbered deals
Deal numbers follow the classic numbering, so deal #1 here has the same layout as #1 in other versions that use it, and you can share a link to a specific game. Nearly every deal is solvable: among the original 32,000, only #11982 is known to have no solution.
Tips
Keep free cells empty as long as you can; each one used halves your room for moving runs. Free the Aces and Twos early, and aim to empty a whole column, which is worth more than any single free cell.
Frequently asked questions
Is every FreeCell game solvable?
Almost. Among the original 32,000 numbered deals only #11982 has no solution, and unsolvable deals are very rare in the full million.
How many cards can you move at once in FreeCell?
(free cells + 1) × 2^(empty columns). With 4 empty free cells you can move 5 cards; each empty column doubles that.
What is the difference between FreeCell and Klondike?
In FreeCell every card is face up from the start and there is no stock, so skill decides almost every game. Klondike hides cards and has a stock.
Can I play a specific deal number?
Yes. Open Deal by number, enter any number from 1 to 1,000,000 and share the link so others get the same layout.
Can I undo in FreeCell?
Yes, without limit. Hint suggests a useful move and auto-complete moves the rest to the foundations at the end.
